H is for Heart: Patterns, Graphs & Food Math Fun Activities

Our Math Activities for H is for Heart
included: Patterns, Counting, Graphing, and Sizing/Ordering

Math Activities:

Heart Patterns

We used both stickers and stamps to work on patterning. We worked on AB, ABC, and ABCD patterns.

Simple AB Patterning with heart stickers

Stamp Patterning - again I bought the stamps & stickers from Oriental Trading and it's been a great buy! The Lil Divas have used them ALOT!

Conversation Hearts Counting & Graphing Activity

The Lil Divas really enjoyed this activity!

I found great templates for this activity at PreKinders.com.

Sorting & Counting the Candy Hearts

Graphing the results

The Finished Graph
we discussed which color they had the most,
the least & which was their fave
(I let them sample 1 of each color)

SweetTarts Hearts Number Review Activity

For this activity I bought a bag of SweetTarts Hearts (they are my fave!) and then cut out twelve hearts from red constuction paper and numbered them from 1 to 12.

I mixed up the hearts, put them in a pile and turned them upside down.

The Lil Divas took turns picking a card from the top of the pile, identifying the number and placing the correct number of SweetTart Hearts on it.

Of course, they had to eat some after we were all for doing such a great job! :)

We also found a cute

To play you match up the numbered heart cards to the correct numbered dot card

Heart Sizing Activity

A quick and easy

Enjoy,
Bern

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm now following you too :)

I have a 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son and my daughter LOVES to make patterns! I think it's something that she really does well and totally understands so she does it more then other activities that are more difficult for her. It seems to boost her confidence quite a bit. I'll have to pick up some conversation hearts and we can do some sorting. I looked through your blog and it looks like you have quite a few awesome activities my kiddos would enjoy. I think maybe we'll do the shaving cream drawing tonight since we have that on hand.
I look forward to reading more of your blog!
