St. Patrick's Day Part 2 - Food, Family, Crafts & Fun

We had a fun filled St. Patrick's Day - finding gold, cleaning up after the messy leprechauns, bowling, crafts and dinner out on the town! Phew, I am tired just writing about it but maybe that's the "green" drinks talking :)

Either way it was a great day & I am happy to share some of the highlights with you:

Books:
St. Patrick's Day by Gail Gibbons
It's St. Patrick's Day  by Rebecca Gomez

Breakfast - Shamrock Pancakes I opted not to make them green as my food coloring supply was depleted by our cupcakes yesterday! It would have been a cute touch though.

Crafts

Handprint Leprechauns - if you've been around a bit you must have noticed that I love handprint art - I try to do something for every holiday - such a great keepsake!

What You Need:
Background paper - I used white cardstock for durability
Green paint
Orange Paint
Tan/Beige Paint
wiggly eyes
pom pom balls
glue

What To Do:
Step 1: paint area across thumb and bottom of palm green - this will be the hat
Step 2: paint middle of palm beige - this will be the face
Step 3 - paint fingers and area right above orange - this will be beard

Result will look like below oce pressed onto paper:

Step 4: add wiggly eyes and pom pom nose - my youngest also added one to the hat

Behold your completed handprint leprechauns:

Easy Irish Flag

  4. Well, I did add the green food coloring to my pancakes and my boys looked at me like, "Are you kidding? We are not eating green food." Maybe they are too young for that- they are only 1 and 2.
