Last week the Oldest Diva had her 1st official school field trip!
It was to our local Publix Supermarket &
it was by far a better experience than I had imagined it would be.
The kids visited the different departments,
learning about them along the way.

They showed us some cake decorating basics in the bakery.
The kids got to keep the cake!

The class learned how they slice the pineapples for sale in the Produce Department. They gave the kids yummy fruit bowls.
We got a tour of the stock room,
and saw how they crush their big boxes!
The kids even got to touch a live lobster,
and learned about fish and crabs in the Seafood Department.
To end the morning each child got a goody bag aside from the popcorn, cake, cookies and fruit given during the trip to take back with us.
The kids enjoyed a feast in the classroom after the field trip. I had no idea what a field trip to our local supermarket would entail and I was pleasantly surprised by everything that our local Publix store did for the kids!
Looks like the kids had a blast! I love Publix.

ReplyDeleteNice trip. Looks like fun. I always love Publix's bakery, best birthday cakes at any supermarket hands down. And the free cookies are good too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome trip. They really went all out for the kids.
