Thank you to My Cute Graphics for the use of the superhero kids graphic.
Families are their children's first teacher. You play such an important role in both their school readiness and their overall academic success. Getting your child(ren) ready for school doesn't have to involve endless hours of drill type activities. It can be playful, informal and fun. When children are having fun, in a comfortable and engaging way - learning occurs naturally. Though your child will have a year of amazing growth and learning in Kindergarten, it is ideal to provide them with both the tools and the necessary foundation they will need to be successful.
This summer, I am being joined by Toddler Approved, Coffee Cups and Crayons, Mess for Less, Rainy Day Mum and Mama Smiles to bring you hands-on, playful ways to get your child(ren) ready for kindergarten through our Get Ready for K Through Play series. Our aim is to provide you with easy, fun and engaging activities that you can add to your summer days with minimal fuss and prep. We want this to be doable and stress free for you and your child so we are doing all the planning and sharing our ideas and activities with you.
Over the course of the next 8 weeks we will each be sharing fun ideas on our 5 blogs aimed at helping children develop:
Week 1 - Language
Week 2 - Social & Emotional Skills
Week 3 - Independence Skills
Week 4 - Math Concepts
Week 5 - Books, Reading & Literacy
Week 6 - Fine Motor & Writing Skills
Week 7 - Alphabet & Phonics
Week 8 - Ready to Learn Skills
We invite you to join us each Wednesday from June 12th thru July 31st as we help you Get Your Child Ready for K Through Play! Each of our five (5) blogs will be offering playful learning ideas and activities on the week's topic. Plus, we are excited to bring you even more ideas on our Get Ready for K Through Play Pinterest Board.
I hope you will find this series to be a wonderful resource for you and your child as you get ready for Kindergarten.

You are so right about time moving quickly. Hopefully, the child is almost ready for K. Unfortunately, there are many moms out there working long hours. Your tips are so helpful in getting them to maximize free time with their children.
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing this. My son is going to start Jr. KG (same as KG there) next April. I want to slowly but surely make him ready for *big* switch too :-)

Very cool! I can't wait to see your ideas!
ReplyDeleteMy Priscilla will be starting Pre-K this year, but I'm sure I'll still be able to use lots of your ideas with her. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI would like to offer up a free printable book I made for my son when he was in preschool for Kindergarten Readiness. We treasure it now to look back at what he thought when he was younger. I printed them up and put them in 3 ring folders for the preschool teachers to do as a end of the year gift to parents.

I missed this Wednesday. Will you post the covered information on here? Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat series idea! I will definitely be tuning in as my sweet little boy will be starting kindergarten this fall : )
ReplyDeleteA video produced by the China CPP film manufacturersvv recently enthralled me with its portrayal of the historical story as seen through the party's eyes. The film expertly portrayed the successes and failures of the CCP, highlighting its commitment to attaining economic and social changes. Despite its apparent ideological bias, the film's high production values and compelling narrative helped shed light on China's complicated past.
